ABOUT EDWARD

Edward is a writer and speaker in the field of criminal justice and faith. He is the co-author - with the Rev'd Jonathan Aitken - of 'Doing Time: A Spiritual Survival Guide' (Lion Books: 2021) and the editor of 'Letters for the Ages: Behind Bars', (Bloomsbury Continuum: 2024). Edward is a Trustee of Sing Inside, an Ambassador for the Welcome Directory, the convener of Trinity Forum Westminster, and works as the Head of Philanthropy at St James's Piccadilly. Edward was an undergraduate at the University of Durham, and holds master's degrees in Criminology (MSc, Oxford), Theology (MA, Durham), and Musicology (MA, Durham). He is now pursuing doctoral research on the 'through-the-gate' experiences of individuals who have found faith whilst in prison, supervised by Prof. Andrew Millie. Edward served an eighteen-week prison sentence in 2015.

AFTER-DINNER TALK

Edward gave an after-dinner talk entitled 'Throw away the key: vengeance, retribution, and Christian punishment' at the first in a new series of Sunday night Choral Evensong at St Philip's Church, Tottenham, each of which are followed by supper and a talk on 'big topics'.
